Jubilee Life Insurance recently supported the Management Association of Pakistan’s 16th Convention as leading sponsors. The mega event, which is held annually, is a forum that brings together national and international experts to discuss matters related to the changing landscape of management in and around Pakistan.

The agenda for this year’s event, held on September 1 and 2, was ‘Re-think Management’ where corporate leaders from various industries discussed how the conventional landscape of management is changing and how new and improved practices are the call of the hour. Business environment has evolved and it is imperative that management practices follow suit with the implementation of innovative methods. The theme of the convention revolved around discussing case studies of companies that have succeeded by appropriately adapting their management practices to reflect the rapidly changing business environment. The objective was to draw conclusions and recommendations as to how this can be done to achieve substantial growth in the business.

As one of the lead sponsors, Jubilee Life was a representation of the business models that the convention aimed to reflect to its audience. Having been in the industry for 19 years now, Jubilee Life has established itself as the most valuable life insurance company on the Karachi Stock Exchange. The company reported a pre-tax profit of Rs 881 million for the first half of 2014, up 50% from Rs 587 million for the same period in the last year. With after-tax profit of Rs 598 million, the earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs 8.29. This success was attained by modifying the structure of the company to sustainable management which helped Jubilee Life adapt in the changing business environment.

Reiterating Jubilee Life’s innovative approach to management, Mr. Javed Ahmed, Managing Director & CEO of the company said: “Modernization triggers change and that trickles down to all aspects of business. We acknowledge and accept the fact that we need to evolve in order to achieve long-term success; therefore, we have adapted new and improved management techniques. Our success in the industry comes down to how quickly and swiftly we evolved our management approach and implemented techniques that complement the changing business environment. This reflects in our mission, vision, strategies and our staff and we are proud of it.”

Management Association of Pakistan is a 50 year old body created to facilitate the business community as their think tank to generate and implement the best management practices that enhance productivity and growth.
