Contingents from various countries participating in the IBSF World 6-Reds and Team Snooker Championship continue to arrive in Pakistan, the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) is busy ensuring all arrangements are complete before the event starts on Thursday. As many as 16 tables have been arranged to accommodate the large number of matches.
“We are hopeful that all the participants will be in Pakistan before the opening ceremony on Thursday,” PBSA Chief Alamgir Sheikh spoke at the press conference. “We are extremely excited as this is a big moment for us. Holding such a mega event seemed like a distant possibility a few years back, I’m glad it has finally arrived.”
The sports itself and the tournament has received extraordinary support by Jubilee Insurance (Jubilee Life and Jubilee General). “I hope that the Pakistani team will give us a very good gift on 14th of August in the form of winning this championship, so I wish them all the best. Jubilee Insurance has been supporting the event of snooker since some time now, and we are very happy that our efforts are bringing results in the form of new players who are coming up very well and are taking the name of Pakistan to International events.” Mr. Javed Ahmed, MD & CEO Jubilee Life spoke at the press conference.
This event is the first global cue sports in the country for 22 years, the Jubilee Insurance World 6-Reds and Team Snooker Championships 2015, will be inaugurated in a colorful inauguration ceremony at Moevenpick Hotel Karachi on Thursday (today).
Participation in the event has been outstanding and players from 18 countries are participating in this grand event. The tournaments will have the categories of men’s, women’s and masters during the 9-day tournament. The stage is all set up to see the commencement of the tournament from August 07, 2015 with full swing.
